#2554 Six-light Neo-Egyptian

Even though the discovery of Tutankhamen's tomb 1923 prompted an Egyptian revival in the 1930's, British archeologists discovered many Egyptian artifacts in the 1880's spurring an earlier craze. Six Egyptian masks adorn the center and the rest of the light, while tastefully understated, contains many authentic details. Especially nice are the open necklace forms at the top of the column above the heads. Although Egyptian motifs often show up on white metal fixtures of the 1870's, this light is unusual in that it is all brass. This is a very rare and beautiful light. Circa date:  1870
