All of our flush fixtures are antique and our collection ranges in date from 1850-1950. What do we mean by antique? We mean that the majority of parts and the configuration are authentic to the original. We do not guarantee that every part is old or original. Upon request, we will be happy to indicate each component and its age.
We generally restore the lights with new sockets and shade holders. If antique sockets/holders are desired, we will be happy to use them at an additional cost.
The lights in this category are under 14 of total drop from the ceiling, making them appropriate for lower ceilings such as 8-0, or in locations where you just want something close to the ceiling
We sell our lights in three conditions:
AS IS: This is how we found the light. No additional work has been done to it. At the very least, if you intend to use this as a light, it should be re-wired.
AS IS REWIRED: In this condition, we wash the surface of the light but otherwise leave it exactly as we found it. Any added parts would be oxidized to match the finish, as best as possible. We then rewire the light.
REFINISHED AND REWIRED: Our refinishing options include polishing, plating, patina and painting.
In most cases, the holder and glass is sold separately. Either component may be purchased alone. Any exceptions to this are noted under the particular picture.
DIMENSIONS: Diameter at ceiling refers to the diameter of the holder where it sits on the ceiling. Widest diameter is the widest point of the glass. Holder size is the outside diameter (outside edge to outside edge) of where the glass is held in place. THIS IS MOST IMPORTANT IF YOU ARE INTER-CHANGING THE HOLDER AND GLASS SO PLEASE OBSERVE CLOSELY. From ceiling is the lowest point from the ceiling.
