All of our wall sconces are antique and our collection ranges in date from 1850-1950. What do we mean by antique? We mean that the majority of parts and the configuration are authentic to the original. We do not guarantee that every part is old or original. Upon request, we will be happy to indicate each component and it’s age.
We generally restore the lights with new sockets and shade holders. If antique sockets/holders are desired, we will be happy to use them at an additional cost.
We sell our lights in three conditions:
AS IS: This is how we found the light. No additional work has been done to it. At the very least, if you intend to use this as a light, it should be re-wired.
AS IS REWIRED: In this condition, we wash the surface of the light but otherwise leave it exactly as we found it. Any added parts would be oxidized to match the finish, as best as possible. We then rewire the light.
REFINISHED AND REWIRED: Our refinishing options include polishing, plating, patina and painting.
PRICES DO NOT INCLUDE GLASS: Many lights can be wired for glass shades or electric candle. If glass shades are used, there is the option of antique or reproduction glass. Many sets of shades shown on the site are new glass, which can be purchased at www.lampglass.nu. It will be noted on each picture whether the glass is old or new.
DIMENSIONS: Width is side to side at the widest point; length is top to bottom at the tallest point; and from wall is the distance from the wall at the longest point.
